Where to train pets

I figured out through trial and error that my Polar puss gets stronger when I send it to the track. I have no idea where to send my Shelly or trash panda. I found myself wishing that, after battling in the arena or dungeon, the game would say: "To train your polar puss, send them to the track." I want the game to tell me where to send my pets to get them stronger.
