Refining equipment

Posted by rapunzel on June 2, 2024

When you go into the mine, you can forge equipment and it tells you how far you can go up, for example 10 forges. But how do you know how far you can refine the equipment, and what does refining actually mean? Also, what should you do first, forge or refine?

Iā€™m not completely sure, but to me refining is bringing up the attributes, and forging is enhancing whatever special skill the piece of equipment has. Personally, I refine first because there is only one way to do it (mines of descent) while you can always forge with a whetstone.

Usually when I start with a new piece of equipment I first refine it to at least level 5 which is usually pretty easy to do. Then I start forging it in the mines. Refining equipment does different things for different equipment. Sometimes it means that equipment is used more often. For example, dragon eye is used 20% plus 3% for each refined level. My dragon eye is refined to level 15 so that means it is used 65% of the time. 15 refined times 3% is 45% plus 20% equals 65%. It's hard but I could refine it so dragon eye would be used 100% of the time. Some equipment, like guardian pendant can only get refined to level 10 because it's used 50% of the time plus 5% for each refined level. If it's refined to level 10 that's 50% plus 50% means it's used 100% of the time. You can ask about each equipment to find out what refining it does. Just say "tell me about (equipment name)". I play on the browser version of tis game so it's easy to find out about each equipment I have. I hope this helped a little bit.

Chenchl000 you have it backwards. Forging brings up the attributes like strength, intelligence, speed, exedra. This is done in the mines. Refining can also be done in the mines or with whetstone.
