Auction House
Posted by Jennifer on July 11, 2024I checked out the auction house on the browser and on the app. I understand how it works on the app but how are we supposed to buy and sell things using the browser. I saw where it says buy orders and sell orders with a number next to each one. I'm assuming from looking at the information it gives that it's the total number of orders that have been bought and sold. I also saw your buy orders and your sell orders which gives the number of items we've bought and ssold.

The buy and sell buttons only show up when that item exists on the market. I'm working on a fix for this now. When I was testing this, I had thousands of buy and sell orders created, so it didn't occur to me that this was an issue until I made the auction house live today. Sorry about that, I'll have. a fix up for it sometime today. For now, you can use the new command feature if you hit the 'Toggle activity log' button and then type 'buy item name' or 'sell item name'
I did a couple of buys, and it sent me money back. I really don't understand this, and I did both the device and the browser.
No sorry needed. I'm sorry if I brought up things you already knew about. I know you're working hard to fix all the bugs in the app and the browser. There have been many times when I've use the app for the auction house and in the mean time I can do it again. I will try typing in what I want. Maybe I'll look at what's already there and buy it to test it out. Whenever you get to it is fine. Everything else on the browser seems to be working the way it should. I don't know if I said this yet but thank you for putting the categories back into the items list. It works very well and I like it.

@jared If you put a buy order up for something that's more than any available sell orders, it's just going to charge you for what each sell order has the price set at and refund you the rest.
@jennifer No problem, the item type filter definitely needed to be added.
That makes sense. I just followed what it wanted.
I actually found the auction house on the app and browser pretty easy to use once I really took a look at and compared the options view buy order and view sell order. I did the following on the browser but I did try it out on the app as well. I bought a couple of potions that were on the sell order but not on the buy order. I did this just so I could really understand it. Unless you come up with something different I think when the item we want isn't on the sell order or buy order we might just have to type buy (item name) or sell (item name). Then you go to the buy or sell order button and when that opens up it has already started the order form. The nice thing is that when you go to either type of order and select an item to look at you can buy or sell that item. You can sell it if you have it. I wrote all this down in case it will be helpful to someone else.
