Is there a skill limit?

Hi there everyone

I am a new player.
I am wondering if there is a limit to how many skills a pet can have and how far can you level a particular skill up? So far I have three skills on a couple of my pets. How many more can I give them?

A pet can have 6 skills and they can be leveled up to 10.

Also, is there a way to remove skills or swap them around. I am thinking about the Dragon Eye equipment. It says something about slot 2. Can you swap around skills so that you can have the first two skills be used by the dragon Eye equipment?
