Taunting bosses with multiple pets
Posted by 2153880976 on Nov. 29, 2024What happens if you taunt with multiple pets? The cliff, all for one, provides a damage, multiplier boost against the enemy that’s haunted a pet. If two pets have haunted the same boss, well that damage multiplier be applied twice?

The pet that taunted the boss last will be the pet the boss's target and the pet that receives the multiplier bonus. It works similar to tanks and taunting in other MMOs, like World of Warcraft. In raids when I played years ago, you would often need more than one tank and when one tank was in trouble, the other tank would taunt the boss and then the boss would switch to attacking that tank instead.
What does shield do? I noticed, when gobbler has the shield, you still do physical damage to gobbler. So, it doesn’t completely reduce damage. But, the shield also takes damage. I’m not sure if shield reduces damage at all, or not. I’m not sure how much damage my pets do to gobbler without the shield.

Shield functions as a secondary damage pool similar to health. Damage is absorbed by the shield before affecting your pet's health. A pet's maximum shield equals their maximum health but can be boosted through equipment, food, potions, skills, and other effects.
If a pet has 1,000 shield and 1,000 health and is hit for 500, the shield will absorb all of the damage and it will have 500 shield left. If it's then hit for 1,000, the shield would absorb 500 damage and then 500 damage would go through to the pet's health pool.
